Fujitsu

Fujitsu logo

Fujitsu General is one of the Japanese majors and the unit we specify when build quality and quiet running rank above headline price. The compressors hold their efficiency through ten to twelve years of Costa del Sol summers, the inverter modulation is tighter than the Spanish-volume brands and the indoor unit fans run quieter at night than anything in the equivalent price bracket. EnviroCare has fitted Fujitsu since the company opened in 1996. It is the brand we move owners to when their first Frimec install ages out and they want something that lasts longer.

About the brand

Fujitsu General is the air conditioning division of the Fujitsu group, founded in Kawasaki, Japan in 1936. The Spanish operation is run from Madrid by Eurofred, the long-standing Iberian distributor for the brand. Eurofred holds parts depots in Madrid and Barcelona and has trained engineers across the major Spanish cities, including Malaga. Fujitsu carries the Inverter Plus, Energy Plus and ECO ranges in the Spanish residential market, with R32 refrigerant standard across the current line-up.

The range we fit

The ASYG range covers wall-mounted single splits from 2.0 to 7.1 kW, which is the bulk of residential installs. The ASTG range adds the Energy Plus high-efficiency variants for owners running the units hard. The 2.5 kW ASYG09 is the volume seller for bedrooms and small offices. The 3.5 kW ASYG12 is the standard fit for a typical Costa del Sol lounge. The 5.0 kW and 7.1 kW units cover larger open-plan spaces and master suites with attached dressing rooms. Multi-split AOYG outdoors run the same indoor formats as the singles.

Where Fujitsu fits and where it does not

Fujitsu is the right call for owner-occupied homes where the heating and cooling spend over ten years matters more than the price on day one. The premium over Frimec runs at around 20 to 30 per cent and pays back across lower running cost, longer working life and a quieter night-time operation that matters in a bedroom. It is the wrong call for a holiday let on a five-year refit cycle or for a budget refurbishment where the spend is better directed elsewhere. For a high-turnover rental in central Fuengirola, Frimec or Toshiba Seiya is the better economic choice. For a couple living year-round in a Mijas villa, Fujitsu earns the premium.

What the install includes

A standard Fujitsu single split install covers the outdoor wall-mount or floor stand with anti-vibration pads, the indoor unit at the chosen position, refrigerant pipework with insulated trunking, condensate drainage routed to a sensible discharge point, electrical circuit with dedicated RCD certified by a registered electrician, F-Gas refrigerant work under nitrogen with vacuum and charge, and full commissioning across heating and cooling modes. The remote is paired and the homeowner walked through scheduling and night mode. Owners get the F-Gas declaration, the Fujitsu three-year manufacturer warranty plus the EnviroCare three-year parts and labour warranty on top.
