Product advice
Bosch
Bosch is the brand we move owners to when the property is electric-only, the household runs the hot water hard, and the standing electricity bill matters. The premium electric tanks hold heat better than the budget end of the market, the heat-pump variants cut the running cost to roughly a third of a direct electric boiler, and the build pedigree is the same Bosch group that owns Junkers on the gas side. EnviroCare has fitted Bosch electric units since the company opened in 1996, with the heat-pump tanks more frequently specified since the brand pushed the range into the Spanish market in the late 2010s.
About the brand
Bosch Termotecnia is the heating and hot water division of Robert Bosch GmbH, the German engineering group founded in Stuttgart in 1886. The division owns Junkers and trades the Bosch brand alongside it in the Spanish market. The electric range covers conventional storage tanks plus the Compress range of heat-pump water heaters, which extract warmth from indoor air and use roughly a third of the electricity of a direct immersion boiler. Both ranges are stocked in Spain and supported by the same engineer network as Junkers.
The range we fit
Bosch conventional electric tanks come in 50, 80, 100 and 150 litre vertical formats and a 50 litre horizontal that mounts under a kitchen cupboard or above a doorway in a tight utility space. The horizontal format solves the Costa del Sol problem of a single-bathroom flat where the only space for a tank is above the bathroom door and a vertical unit will not fit. The Compress 4000 and 7000 heat-pump water heaters cover 200 to 270 litres, sized for villas with three or more occupants and a heavy hot water demand.
Where Bosch fits and where it does not
Bosch conventional electric tanks are the right call for a Costa del Sol flat where the only available space is above a doorway and the horizontal format is the unit that fits. They are also the engineering-led choice over Equation when the owner is buying for ten to fifteen years and wants German build pedigree at the electric price point. The Compress heat-pump tanks are the right call for an electric-only villa where running cost over the life of the tank matters more than the higher purchase price. The wrong call is a holiday let where the unit will be replaced again within five to seven years, or a single-bathroom flat where Equation fits the same role for less.
What the install includes
A standard Bosch electric storage install covers removal of the old unit, supply and fit of the new tank, wall bracket sized for vertical or horizontal mounting, isolation valves, expansion vessel where required, and full commissioning. The Compress heat-pump tank install adds a condensate drain run, ducting where the unit sits in a confined space, and the F-Gas refrigerant work signed off by a certified engineer. A registered electrician handles any consumer-unit upgrade. Owners get the Bosch manufacturer warranty plus the EnviroCare three-year parts and labour warranty on top.
